Sensei Paul awarded 5th Dan

The British Karate Association Chairman, Brian Seabright, has awarded sensei Paul Banbury, Chief Instructor of AKA Karate Black Belt Academy, the grade of 5th Dan.

The award is in recognition of Paul’s dedication to Karate, passing on his knowledge to others and his support of the BKA. Sensei Paul has been Karate training for 21 years, in the early years competing in both kumite (fighting) and kata (forms). Now Paul continues to increase his knowledge of karate and to teach a growing number of students. Since becoming an instructor Paul has taken the greatest pleasure in helping to realise the dreams and full potential of over 40 students in achieving their own Black Belt, many of these have gone on to assist yet more students. The AKA Karate Black Belt Academy is well known around Hastings with students dressed in their distinctive red gi (uniform), and now has another club opened recently in Sidley. The Academy is a popular draw and has performed many demonstrations around this town and every year supports the Gun Carriage Tournament and the Half Marathon. AKA Karate each year hold a competition at the Earl Street dojo (training hall) with competitors coming from around the county and London. The competitions are a great success and help maintain the competitive edge the Karate needs. If you would like to try Karate in Hastings or Sidley call Sensei Paul on 07973 149519 and arrange a FREE lesson.
