Why the A.K.A?

Basically we're fabulous! However, if that's not specific enough for you here is a, by no-means exhaustive, list of benefits associated with being an A.K.A. student.    
    * We are licensed by the British Karate Association, the chairman of which is Brian Seabright, 6th Dan (a very high karate grade so don't mess with him!)
    * We offer regular gradings (karate exams) to enable you to progress to that coveted black belt... and beyond.
    * We have an annual competition in which you can compete to win the range of glittering prizes that are on offer. It is up to you whether you display them prominently or hide them in the back of your cupboard.
    * Training in self-defence, discipline and self-control.
    * A custom-built Dojo (training hall) - no draughty hall for us! Our Dojo is fully-matted (this helps to protect the delicate bits that might come into contact with it) and has seating for spectators.
    * TWO FREE introductory lessons.

At the A.K.A. we welcome everyone, regardless of age, fitness or experience. We believe in training and laughing hard. We know that children in particular benefit from the high standard of discipline that we expect them to demonstrate and this has positive repercussions on their behaviour outside karate as well.

We currently offer 15 classes spread over 5 different days, excluding Friday and Sunday. These classes are tailored to match age and ability so there is bound to be one that is perfect for you!
